About Autodesk
Autodesk is a public company traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange and headquartered in San Rafael, California. Founded in 1982, the company specializes in design software for architects, engineers, product designers, city planners and graphic designers. The most well-known product created by the company is AutoCAD, a software program that is used for computer-aided drafting with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional rendering abilities. Autodesk also sells 3DS Max for three-dimensional modeling and animation, Alias for industrial design, InfraWorks 360 for civil engineering design, Inventor for mechanical design and Maya for creating animations. The majority of the programs are available for both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
