Priceline is a public company that appears on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, Priceline was founded in 1997 and launched their website Priceline.com in 1998. Priceline is a discount travel site that offers two ways to save on travel arrangements. Users can name a specific price that they are willing to pay for hotels, flights and car rentals. If the site can find arrangements at that price, the arrangements are made automatically without users being able to modify the deal. Alternatively, users can enter in the information for their trip and search for offers, making their own decision about where to stay and where and how to fly or rent a car.
